Original, Antique, Practical

In ancient Japan, pottery may have been served many purposes. It could have been used to gather food or water. It could have been used to store items around the home or to decorate a living space. Although there is much we don't know about these artworks, we do know that they are some of the oldest in the world! Join us in this four-week art project as we apply our knowledge of clay vocabulary, hand-building, coils, and texture to create pottery just like the Jomon vessels of long ago!
